Clown Detector is a free Chrome add-on developed by dmonaresdev that aims to save you time and frustration when browsing LinkedIn job posts. If you're tired of wasting time reading through job descriptions only to find out that they require more experience than advertised, or if you want to avoid certain keywords altogether, Clown Detector is here to help.
With Clown Detector, you can set two types of criteria to flag undesirable job posts. The first setting, called "Entry Level," will flag any job explicitly labeled as "entry level" but actually requires mid to senior level experience. You can adjust the threshold for years of experience required, ranging from 3+ to 7+ years, with 7+ years being the default. This setting can also be disabled if desired.
The second setting, called "Clownlist," allows you to specify keywords that you want to avoid. Clown Detector will flag any job that contains these keywords, regardless of the experience level required.
It is worth noting that Clown Detector may have compatibility issues with ad blocking extensions. Disabling your ad blocker on LinkedIn should resolve these issues, though it is not necessary for other websites.
